Save the dates! Some Saturday and some Sunday - all depends on University of Tennessee sporting events! 


March 21, 10:00 am, UT South Greenhouse, Rm 122 Instruction Work Room (small meeting room). Joy Grisson, the Native Plant Rescue Squad, will be presenting on their good work in saving native plants from construction sites and will help us understand how to incorporate into our landscapes. And, she will have native plants to sell! When we’re done, you can slip next door to the classroom and see the East Tennessee Daffodil Society Daffodil Show!

May 3, UT Knoxville Gardens parking lot.  ETHS Annual Plant and Garden Sale.  11am – 4pm.  ALWAYS a great event! We need your help

Gardening Calendar of Events 
(All time zones Eastern unless specified)

March 14th – 15th, Watertown, TN.  Annual Daffodil Open Garden at Dirt Dawg Nursery.  Over 700 labeled varieties of daffodils will be on display, some will be for sale.  Dirt Dawg Nursery, 2910 Poplar Hill Road, Watertown, TN 37184 (about a 2 hour road trip for Knoxvillians).  Here’s a link to a video from several years ago.  Daffodil Collection-Mid to Late Season Bloomers | Volunteer Gardener | NPT.

March 21, 1:00 to 5:00 pm, East Tennessee Daffodil Society Daffodil Show, UT Gardens, Knoxville, South Greenhouse Classroom.

March 21, Watertown, TN.  Dirt Dawg Nursery Daffodil and Conifer Show and Sale.

April 10 – 11, UT Knoxville Annual Plant Sale (volunteers needed); April 10 for UT Gardens Members and UT Employees, open to the public on April 11. See more info on their website.

May 1st – 3rd, Asheville, NC.  Growing in the Mountains spring plant sale. Western NC Farmers Market.  9a – 5p, Sunday 10a – 2p.  Great variety of plants, lots of natives and veggies, plus ornamentals and crafts.  Always worth the trip!  https://www.facebook.com/growinginthemountains

May 9th, Huntsville, AL.  North AL Hosta Society plant sale, 9a – 3p. Good group; usually have a great variety of plants for sale (not just hostas).  It’s roughly 3.5 hours from Knoxville. Check out their Facebook page or their website.

May 28th – 30th, Huntsville, AL.  AHS Dixie Regional Meeting.  LIMITED TO 125 PARTICIPANTS, so sign up soon if you want to go. The Dixie meetings are always good and worth a road trip.  And, they’ll have tours and plant sales to go along with the meeting. June 13th and 14th (tentative), Johnson City, TN.  Shady Oaks Garden Club of Johnson City will be hosting their bi-annual Garden Tour weekend in early June, probably the weekend of the 13th.  They have some amazing gardens, one of which was featured in Southern Living Magazine.  Keep an eye out for details, https://www.shadyoaksgardenclub.org/
